Gated on #210, #217 and #219.

  • places ← Stedsnavn (komplett SSR), e1c50348-962d-4047-8325-bdc265c853ed,
Kartverket, CC BY 4.0. N50's StedsnavnTekst shows the shape: fulltekst /
streng for the name, stedsnummer for the SSR id, and a three-level name-type
    taxonomy
    (navneobjekthovedgruppe / navneobjektgruppe / navneobjekttype —
bruk, bekk, seterStøl, haug, tjern, fjell, topp, ås,
dal, myr, …). That taxonomy is the rank ladder; filter it to settlement types
rather than importing all of SSR into places.
språk is the other reason this layer matters: it takes nordsamisk and
kvensk, so Norway is the project's first country with official minority-language
names. Decide the naming policy (Norwegian only? the official name of each place?
both?) and write it down — it is an editorial decision, not a data one. Glyph coverage is
    already confirmed (#214).
  • buildings ← N50 Bygning — verified as gml:Surface footprint
    polygons
in the delivered GML, so Norway is a buildings country, not a
building_points one. bygningstype is the class code.
  • airports — N50 carries airport classes but none appeared in the two sampled
municipalities. Enumerate the full N50 object catalogue (R6) before building or before
    declaring anything.
  • ferries — required, not optional. The NVDB data catalogue (424 object types,
fetched live) carries 770 Ferjesamband (ferry connection) and 64 Ferjekai
(ferry quay), so the road source marks boat crossings. Norway has the largest ferry
network of any country in the map so far; this is a real layer, not a footnote.

N50's `StedsnavnTekst` shows the shape: `fulltekst` / `streng` for the name, `stedsnummer` for the SSR id, and a **three-level name-type taxonomy** (`navneobjekthovedgruppe` / `navneobjektgruppe` / `navneobjekttype` — `bruk`, `bekk`, `seterStøl`, `haug`, `tjern`, `fjell`, `topp`, `ås`, `dal`, `myr`, …). That taxonomy is the rank ladder; filter it to settlement types rather than importing all of SSR into `places`. **`språk`** is the other reason this layer matters: it takes `nordsamisk` and `kvensk`, so Norway is the project's first country with official minority-language names. Glyph coverage is already confirmed (#214). - **`buildings`** ← N50 **`Bygning`** — verified as **`gml:Surface` footprint polygons** in the delivered GML, so Norway is a `buildings` country, not a `building_points` one. `bygningstype` is the class code. - **`airports`** — N50 carries airport classes but none appeared in the two sampled municipalities.
