The reason this is its own issue and an easy one: the layer already carries everything the
rank ladder needs, with no join to a statistics office:
nazev— the namepoc_obyv— the population (617 on the sampled feature)typ_obce— the settlement type (Městyson the sampled feature;Město,Obecexpected — enumerate the domain)kod_cob,kod_lau2— codes, for a later ČSÚ join if one is ever wantedPoland and Greece both needed a separate population source joined on a code (ELSTAT SAM03
on
kalcodefor Greece, #190). Czechia does not. Build the rung ladder frompoc_obyvwith
typ_obceas the tie-breaker, and put the reasoning next to the query.Note this is části obcí (parts of municipalities), not municipalities — 11 155 of them
against ~6 250 obce, so it is the settlement-level layer the
placescontract wants.
